Day 1: Arrive to Galapagos + Snorkel
The adventure begins! Arrive to San Cristobal island, on the far east side of the Galapagos islands.
You can only arrive by air from Quito or Guayaquil on the mainl land Ecuador. The flight takes approx 1,5 hour (600 miles of Ecuador coast).
As you arrive to the airport, you are welcome by very friendly bilingual naturalist guide. We board the local taxis (pick up trucks) and drive for approx. 8 minutes to local restaurant in the middle of town.
Your lugagge will be taken directly to the hotel. After a tasty lunch you admire the local atmosphere of town.
After lunch you will be taken to your hotel. Hotel is located on top of a hill, very closet o one of towns main beach.
Hotel is small and cozy, providing a home feeling. Check in hotel, and get ready to go out again.
Our first stop, is to try out gear for the next few days. We take you to our Friends shop, where you will try wet-suit, snorkel mask, fins and all propper equipment to go into water.
After you are all set with the gear, we will go towards south fase of the island to the Loberia beach.
The hike across to Loberia, takes us through a beach path, where the first thing we see is beach morning glory with powerful waves breaking no more than 10 meters from us. For this activity we use our off road chairs, which let us hike through the path in a comfortable, safe and accessible way.
We continue the hike, observing mangroves that go across the beach path, contrasting with huge lava rocks where we find black marine iguanas bathing in the sun, absorving as much sun rays as possible.
On a lucky day, we will cross along the path with some iguanas, and if not we certainly can appreciate them from a distance. We continue our hike, going through carpetweed sections, where the famous round finch birds are spotted.
As we get closer to the beach, we will also spot yellow warblers that come and go very curious of our presence.
Finally we arrive to the spot where we will go into the water. Our first encounter will be palyfull sea lions lying down 5 feet away from us. We will ge tour gear ready, and with the assistance of our trained staff, you will be taken inside the water.
We will take as long as you need, to make sure the process of going into the water is smooth and safe. The place where we snorkel is a natural bay, where water comes in, and forms some sort of pond, which is home of many animals.
Once inside the water, you will be wearing a safety vest, as well as holding on to a flotation rim. We will go around the water and depending on the day, you will see clamsel fish, parrot fish, sunset wrasses, sea cucumbers, sea urchens, stripped salema among others.
On a lucky day, we will have sea lions pubs swiming with us and maybe a marine tortoise……simply wonderful!!! When it is time, we will get out of the water, same process as going in, providing all assistance for you to get out in a safe and comfortable way.
We will have some time at the beach, admiring frigate birds on sky. On the way back we will spot lava gulls and a stunning sunset from the beach. At night you will have a delicious dinner with the first of many walks across the boardwalk. This is the best way to finish the day as you will see colonies of sea lions coming into the beach for the night.
You will be able to see them, hear them and even interact with them. Time to go back to hotel for a well deserved rest 😊

Day 2: Snorkel Kicker Rock
Day begins early with a morning transfer to local peer at San Cristobal.
While at the peer, if lucky we will have sealions joining us as we trasnfer you to local boat taxis at peer.
You are safely transfer into small boats, where you remain in your wheelchair.
We will head towards our boat harbor in the bay. Once at the boat, we will safely transfer you to the boat deck. Once at the deck, you have time to organize yourself, put away your gear (snorkel, mask, fins), apply one more layer of sun screan, get your music ready and admire the view as we start heading out of Puerto Baquerizo bay.
As we leave the bay, our naturalist guide will give you a warm welcome explaining the activities and locations we will visit during the day.
As the boat starts traveling, we will cross the lava rocks on shore, admiring blue footed boobies and pelicans. Our boat crew will make sure we have jugs of ice tea, coffee and fruit at your disposal.
The ride on the boat goes slow, as the idea is to admire the magic of the ocean, why not sometimes we can spot dolphins and/or spotted rays joining our tour. It is nature, so each time is a different view and a different experience. As we continue our ride, we will start seeing two big formations on the horizon. One is Kicker Rock and the other one is Cerro Brujo.
We will set course towards Cerro Brujo. After approx 2 hours of boat riding, we arrive to this white-thin sand beach. We will have a wet disembark, which means, we will use our beach floatable chairs, to get you very close to the beach.
Once we safely take you to the beach, a new adventure begins as we will go through this very thin sand beach, observing how blue footed boobies, brown pelicans dive over and over right in front of us in search of fish.
As the walk at the beach continues we will observe the brown noddy tern lying in the rocks, curious with your visit. As the beack walk continues, we will go into the cristal clear waters to have a picture taken as well as to simply enjoy, capture the moment. We will be transfered into the boat once again to start heading towards Kicker Rock.
This is the perfect time to enjoy a tasty lunch. Kicker rock is an ancient and eroded volcanic lava tuff cone. It is formed by two rocks approximately 150 meters/485 feet tall.
Between the 2 rocks there is a canal exceptional for swimming, taking pictures, scuba diving and snorkeling. As we approach this rock formation, you will be amazed by the beauty and impressive shape of the rocks. We will start getting our gear on. We will assist you to get your wet-suit on, try the mask, fins, etc.
The disembark to the location is done by accessing a flat platform at the back end of the boat. We will provide safety jackets, floating rings and one to one assistance once inside the water. The main idea is to feel safe, so you can fully enjoy the experience.
Once inside the water, we start swiming next to the rock formation. On an average day you can spot sea turtles, galapagos sharks, white tipped reef sharks, soft corals attached to the wll, spongies of various colors (red, blue, yellow), Orange cup corals, sea urgins, big school of salamas, mexican hog fish, yellow tail surgeonfish, rainbow wras fish, King angelfish among many others……Simply one of the best experiences…….
As you come out of the water thinking you have seen it all, you will be totally amazed by the birds flying around the rocks. You will observe frigate birds, nazca boobies, blue footed boobies, tropic red beak birds and shear waters.
Once out of the water, you will get dry, eat fruit and a snack, maybe a coffee to regain body temperatura, and start heading back to town.
This is simply one of the best experiences you can have on a day tour at GALAPAGOS. Arrive to town around 16h30 pm.
Transfer to your hotel, rest, and sunset observation at the bay

Day 3: Flight San Cristobal to Isabela island

Once at Isabela we will be transfer to our hotel. Check in. Time to settle. In the afternoon we will take you around town towards the breeding center for giant galapagos tourtles. On the way we will cross ponds where we can observe flamingos. Also along the path we will observe the poison apple tree which is the main source of feed for the giant galapagos tourtles. Once at the breeding center you will learn so much about these amazing reptiles and their importance to the islands flora and fauna.
Return to town just in time for sunset. Dinner is on your own, but we will give you some excellent options.

Day 6: Interpretation Center Visit + Transfer out
Day starts with a morning visit to the Interpretation Center. This is a great opportunity to learn about the islands formation.
After we learn everything there is to learn about weather, ocean platform and currents, we continue the visit by exploring the discovery of Galapagos, by Tomas de Berlanga back in the 1500´s along with the first attempts to live in the islands during the centuries to follow. Finally the center presents a present life situation where the main strenghts, weakness, opportunities and threats are considered to set the different actions people need to follow in order to preserve this magical place. As the visit to the center finishes, we follow a rock path (accessible) up the hill towards a dry forest vegetation. This is a prefect place to observe one more time the lava lizards as well as chandelier cactus all over the path. As we go along the dry forest path, we notice certain lookout points which allows us to observe town from a distance or simply admire the ocean and the locations we have visited the days before. Finally we reach to the “Tijeretas” look out point, which stands approx 30 meters above the bay, where cristal turquoise waters reflect our visión. If lucky we be able even to spot some marine life from this lookout point. We start our journey back to town, going through Playa Mann beach. Pick up lugagge from hotel and trasnfer to the airport. End of the adventure Meals included (B)
FEES –
The fees you are responsible for paying are as follows: $20 INGALA FEE – CASH ONLY
This is a visitor control document used to track and moderate tourism and migration to the islands that was implemented in 2006 by the Galapagos National Park. This card is purchased at the airport in Quito or Guayaquil and will need to shown along with your passport upon entering the islands.
$200 PARK ENTRANCE FEE – CASH ONLY
This is payable upon entering the Galapagos. As per the National park website: ‘Funds from the entry tax for tourists are used to finance the conservation of biodiversity of flora and fauna, terrestrial and marine, and benefits the local community by improving basic services, education projects, sports, health, environmental sanitation, environmental services and services directly related to tourists.’ Learn more at the Galapagos National Park website.
BUDGET –
You are responsible for the above-mentioned fees and any meals not included in your tour package. A cheap meal is $3-5 and an expensive meal is $10-20. Beer, sodas, and snacks are $1-3. An emergency stash of cash is always a good idea – we recommend at least $200. All that’s left is souvenir money and a tip if you choose to leave one.
TIPPING –
10% is the typical tip in restaurants and is usually included in your bill as a service charge. For drivers, helpers, and crew during your trip, $5-10 a day is customary. For your leader, $8-12 per day per person is the norm. Tipping is in no way required and entirely at your discretion. It is however of great significance to those who have helped make your tour a success and a great way to express your appreciation for a job well done.
Group Leader & On-site Support
All of our trips are lead or co-lead by a certified Galapagos Naturalist Guide. Your guides will have a wealth of information about the islands, flora and fauna. They are locals to the islands and speak excellent English. We are truly grateful for our wonderful guides .
Your Responsibilities & Fellow Travelers
Spending several days with friends, family and fellow travelers from around the world can be exciting and dynamic. At times, it can be a challenge. For the best possible trip, it is important that all passengers adhere to meeting times as a common courtesy. With a small effort on your part and some patience on behalf of your fellow travelers, we are certain that the tour will be enjoyable for all.
Travel Documents & Visas
In order to enter Ecuador, you must have a valid passport with more than 6 months validity. You may also need a visa depending on your home country. Contact your local embassy or consulate for the most up to date travel requirements. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO HAVE PROPER TRAVEL DOCUMENTATION. It’s also a good idea to have a copy of all important documents with you. Even better is to take a picture or scan important documents in a email to yourself (passport, airline ticket, etc).
Travel Insurance
Bags get lost. Flights get delayed. And the unexpected, well you get the picture. Things happen. Travel insurance is the best way to protect yourself and your investment should a misfortune occur. There are several to choose from and not as expensive as you think. Between 5 and 15 dollars a day will give you peace of mind before and during your trip. *Safety is our number one priority on each and every trip. However, the destination in which we operate has limited medical facilities and is an island off the coast of a third world country. Although we don't anticipate a medical emergency, travel insurance with medical and emergency evacuation coverage is highly recommended.
Accessible Equipment:
Land transportation within island
- All land transportation is done in small pick up trucks (capacity 3 people). Person with a disability makes a manual individual/assisted transfer to front seat of vehicle. According to group size we used the required number of vehicles
Inter-island boat crossing:
For boat transportation between islands, we use public speed boat, capacity 30 people. All clients must transfer to seats inside the boat. Depending on the seasson oean gets wavy, so betwen June to December we do not recommend to use this transportation as the boat jumps a lot.

Daily Tours Boat Transportation
- For daily boat transportation for our tours at San Cristobal, we use a catamaran capacity for 12 people. Very spacious and comfortable. Transfer in and out of catamaran is done with assistance of our staff, by taking a boat taxi from peer to catamaran. Bathroom inside catamaran, has 3 steps down to access. We provide assistance to go in and out of bathroom

Flying between islands
- For flying between islands, there is a private airline company. Planes are very small (capacity 5 people). Access to and out of plane is done by manually lifting clients into the plane. This service is used only in multi-island programs, which are only sold for private itineraries
