We aim to work mostly with eco-friendly hotels, lodges, restaurants, guides so we can spread the benefits of tourism to all members

Tours are done in small group basis, focusing on safety protocols and authenticy.

Day 1: Arrival

Welcome to Ecuador! We will pick you up from the airport and drive you to your hotel.
Depending on time of arrival we would have a brief meeting to get to know each other and explain to you the next few days.

Day 2: Quito + Drive south Andes

After late brekfast we will start driving south in the Andes.
We will cross the Cotopaxi National Park. If lucky we will admire the Cotopaxi snow capped volcano.
On the way we will have a stop at a fair trade rose farm plantation where we will admire the process of growing one of the finest roses in the world.
We will have lunch at a typical hacienda/farm trying some local cuisine typical from the Andes. Continue driving on the Andes until we arrive to Baños de Agua Santa nested in the bottom of the Tungurahua active volcano.
Check in hotel, and time to wonder around town, discovering this unique town.

Day 3: Baños town + Community

After brekfast you will visit the local market where we will have the opportunity to try local fruits and observe the local products.
Continue with a visit to a cable car ride, where we will cross the ravines of the Agoyán river, going over the waterfall.
Spectacular views of the mountains and waterfall.
After lunch we will have drive towards a small community where we will admire the Tungurahua volcano, as well as melt with local community in their afternoon activities.
Return to Baños late afternoon for dinner.

Day 4: Highlands - Amazon

After we will drive deeper into the amazon basin of Ecuador.
We will follow the river ravine until we reach Tena city, nested in the amazon Napo province.
Arrive to Huasquila Lodge.
In the afternoon we will visit an indigenous community and have the chance to learn about their typical dances, customs and traditions. They teach us to preparate guayusa and make the famous chicha.

Day 5: Amazon rafting

 
We will start the day with a 1.5 hour drive to the Anzu River.
There, we will raft down the calm river, giving us the chance to admire the surrounding flora and fauna, truly one of the best ways to experience the magnificence of the Amazon.
During the trip, we can stop at several points of interest to take pictures and relax on the river. We will finish our journey around 2:00 pm.
We will have an eco-picnic at the beach, enjoyint tropical fruits and vegetables.
We will head back to Huasquila lodge after lunch. Rest of the evening are for relaxing and chatting at the lodge (play games, cards, etc.) while enjoying your favorite drink.
Note: Even though the river is very calm, for safety reasons, we will raft down the river with a security kayaker at all times. Additionally, each traveler will wear a safety jacket, helmet, and all safety equipment. For the transfer in and out of the boat, we manually assist the guest by using a sliding board and/or manually lifting the guest into the boat.

Day 6: Jungle Hike + Towns

Prepare to go off-roading!
With the use an off-road wheelchair, we will go hiking through the secondary rainforest and learn about medicinal plants from a native guide.
The path into the rainforest is maintained by the logde and it includes stops along the way. If the weather allows it we will reach a small waterfall and one huge Ceibo tree to finish our hike.
After lunch, we will visit local towns of Archidona and Tena to share with locals a typical afternoon in these cute, cozy towns.

Day 7: Amazon - Highlands Quito

We will leave the tropical rainforest to enjoy a half day in the Andes at one of the best thermal baths and spa of Ecuador at Papallacta Hot Springs.
We will be over 3000 meters surrounded by mountains and inside a hot spring….. For  the ones intersted there is the possiblity to arrange a massage as well (additional).
Mid-late afternoon we will arrive in Quito. Check in at hotel and dinner

Day 8: Quito

In the morning we will discover Quito´s famous historical center and admire its unique colonial architecture.
We will enter one of its churches and several plazas from the spanish time.
Also time to discover the little stores around downtown Quito which still manufacture and sell local candy, desserts and interesting things. In the afternoon we will visit the “Mitad del Mundo” (Middle of the World), where we can get a photo straddling the line separating the northern and southern hemispheres.
We will also partcipate in different experiments in the interactive museum and have some time to wonder around the central plaza to buy local souvenirs or enjoy a cup of coffee.

Day 9: Quito - Galapagos

Our Galapagos adventure begins with an aprox. 2 hours flight from Quito to San Cristobal Island.
Once we are in the island, we will take you to a local restaurant to enjoy a tasty lunch…of course sea food, fish is on the menu.
This is the time your local naturalist guide from Galapagos National Park will give you an introduction to the islands, the activities and what to expect during your tour.
After lunch we go to the hotel for a quick change of clothes, refresh up and off to our first adventure. We visit a local dive shop in town to try the gear you will be using the next few days…This is a wetsuit, mask and fins.
Once we do the equipment fitting, we drive for approx 5 minutes to the entrance of La Loberia beach.
To reach the beach, we will go through a path for approx 800 meters. This path is on the south end of the island, receiving the swells and winds from the south. If we are lucky along the trail we will be able to admire marine iguanas crossing by, some frigate birds on the sky and beautiful colorful morning glory seaweed…
Be prepare to listen to the guide about all the knowledge they provide as well as make sure you ask the guide all the questions we are sure you have…..
Finally we reach the Loberia beach, which has a sea lion colony This is the perfect opportunity to go snorkel. We provide all assistance, equipment, floating devices required for everybody to go inside the ocean in a safe way.
Some days when there is a swell you may find waves, but usually it is pretty simple to go in and out of the water. Once inside, depending on the luck you have you may find some playfull sealions swiming around you, a marine tortoise swiming by or simply colorful tropical fish…..
Whatever you see, it is a great first snorkel and welcoming to the island. Around sunset we start going back to the entrance to drive back to town.
Dinner will be served at a cozy local restaurant in town.

Day 10: Giant tourtles + kayak

After breakfast we will take local transportation to drive for approx 30 minutes across the highlands.
We will reach an altitude of 700 meters, observing the changes in vegetation and weather.
We arrive to the giant turtle breeding center, which is a semi-natural environment that host approx 100 tourtles in different stages.
Along the path, you will observe, smell typical flora from the island, which is the food for the tourtles.
This giant reptiles are the architects of the islands, as they eat the vegetation, move around the islands and then defecate the seeds miles away, reproducing the natural vegetation of each island.
This is a great opportunity to make great pictures of the famous turtles. If time allows it, we will visit Puerto Chino beach, which is a beautiful tourquise water beach at the end of a dry forest hike. It is a good opportunity to go into the water to swim a little or enjoy the beach.
For lunch we will visit an organic farm restaurant, which harvest most of their own fruit and vegetables. The fish is a good option as well as tropical juices. The restaurant overlooks the ocean from a hill.
After a tasty lunch, we drive back to town. Arrive to town mid afternoon in order to go Playa de Oro beach, to go into our kayaks.
Each ocean kayak holds 2 people. Depending on your needs we will have enough staff to make sure you are safe and comfortable in each kayak.
Off we go along the shore….We will first practice on Playa de Oro bay, moving along the boats….Then we continue to reach Playa Man beach…
Here we will have some time to observe colonies of sealions. We will continue along the reef in the search of blue footed boobies resting on the rocks…..
As we cross Punta Carola beach, we will reach a location where usually pelicans nest. Since we are in kayaks, we can get very close to the rocks, observing blue footed boobies, pelicans, tailed heron among others….
Finally we reach Tijeretas bay, where we observe on the distance frigates nesting on the hill…..
During most of the kayak, some curious sealions sometimes reach to us, as well as marine tortoise spot their head out of the water.
Return to Playa de Oro to finish the day just in time to observe sunset.
Time to go to hotel, shower and get ready to go out for dinner at another local restaurant to try a new tasty meal.

Day 11: Navegation + Snorkel

Today we will enjoy one of Galapagos highlights.
After breakfast we will go to the peer to go into our boat.
We will get out of the bay area, working our way north towards Kicker Rock which is a rock formation or an eroded cone of volcanic tuff. Kicker rock is also a refuge for many seabirds like blue-footed boobies and phaetons, as well as for sea lions.
The waters around the rock are home to numerous species of fish, sea turtles, rays and hammerhead sharks. It reaches a maximum of 114 meters in height.
After the snorkel at Kicker Rock we will have lunch on board and end the tour with a visit to a calm beach on the island, surrounded by clear water and mangroves.
Order of visits can change according to license of the National Park.
At mid afternoon we return to town. Rest of afernoon on your own. We meet again for dinner.
Notes: The boat we use is very cozy, comfortable. We provide juice, coffee, tea on board. Captain and crew are very helpfull. Boat has a capacity of 12 people max.Access to toilets in the boat it is complicated, as to access the toilets you need to go down 3 steps. If needed we provide the assistance to go into the toilets. Access to and from water is simple, as boat has platforms in each side of the stern. Assistance is provided for this activity as well as floating devices.

Day 12: Galapagos - Quito

After breakfast, we visit the San Cristobal Interpretation Center to learn a bit about its history, present and challenges for the future.
We will also go for a short hike to Tijeretas view point to admire the island from the top.
During this short hike we can admire dry forest vegetation.
We will have a last chance to enjoy the beach before we catch our flight.
Transfer to airport at mid morning to catch flight to Quito and connect with international flight out. End of services.

Galapagos Fees

FEES –

The fees you are responsible for paying are as follows:

$20 INGALA FEE – CASH ONLY

This is a visitor control document used to track and moderate tourism and migration to the islands that was implemented in 2006 by the Galapagos National Park. This card is purchased at the airport in Quito or Guayaquil and will need to shown along with your passport upon entering the islands.

$100 PARK ENTRANCE FEE – CASH ONLY

This is payable upon entering the Galapagos. As per the National park website: ‘Funds from the entry tax for tourists are used to finance the conservation of biodiversity of flora and fauna, terrestrial and marine, and benefits the local community by improving basic services, education projects, sports, health, environmental sanitation, environmental services and services directly related to tourists.’ Learn more at the Galapagos National Park website.

In order to operate our accessible tours, through out the years we have created, adapted and bought different equipment which allows us to operate the tours in a safe, fun and accessible way. Ecuador & Galapagos Transportation:

Ecuador Continent:

- For tours of 2 people (1 guest with a disability) we use small SUV car, with sliding board so client transfer to the front part of the vehicle - For groups of 3 people and more, we use VAN (up to 16 pax) with portable ramp, which connects on the side of the VAN. Clients need to do transfer to regular seat while in the vehicle. - For groups of 3 people and more, we use VAN (up to 8 pax) with electric lift. However the conditon of the vehicle is not optimal, so we normally use the newer VAN with a portable ramp.

Galapagos Islands:

Land transportation within island

- All land transportation is done in small pick up trucks (capacity 3 people). Person with a disability makes a manual individual/assisted transfer to front seat of vehicle. According to group size we used the required number of vehicles

Inter-island boat crossing:

For boat transportation between islands, we use public speed boat, capacity 30 people. All clients must transfer to seats inside the boat. Depending on the seasson oean gets wavy, so betwen June to December we do not recommend to use this transportation as the boat jumps a lot.

Daily Tours Boat Transportation

- For daily boat transportation for our tours at San Cristobal, we use a catamaran capacity for 12 people. Very spacious and comfortable. Transfer in and out of catamaran is done with assistance of our staff, by taking a boat taxi from peer to catamaran. Bathroom inside catamaran, has 3 steps down to access. We provide assistance to go in and out of bathroom

Flying between islands

- For flying between islands, there is a private airline company. Planes are very small (capacity 5 people). Access to and out of plane is done by manually lifting clients into the plane. This service is used only in multi-island programs, which are only sold for private itineraries
