Galapagos in a wheelchair (4 of 4)
The adventure finishes
Interpretation Center
As day begins we visit the Interpreatation Center located in the Playa Mann area. We will visit this cozy center, where we are firstly introduced to the formation of the islands and the different circunstances that explain why Galapagos is very unique and diverse.
We are amazed to learn about the hot spot of Galapagos and/or the cold and warm currents that colapses at Equator to head towards Galapagos, given unique circunstances to have such a different and diverse marine life.
After we learn everything there is to learn about weather, ocean platform and currents, we continue the visit by exploring the discovery of Galapagos, by Tomas de Berlanga back in the 1500´s along with the first attempts to live in the islands during the centuries to follow.
Finally the center presents a present life situation where the main strenghts, weakness, opportunities and threats are considered to set the different actions people need to follow in order to preserve this magical place.
A quick last hike
As the visit to the center finishes, we follow a rock path (accessible) up the hill towards a dry forest vegetation.
This is a prefect place to observe one more time the lava lizards as well as chandelier cactus all over the path.
As we go along the dry forest path, we notice certain lookout points which allows us to observe town from a distance or simply admire the ocean and the locations we have visited the days before.
Finally we reach to the “Tijeretas” look out point, which stands approx 30 meters above the bay, where cristal turquoise waters reflect our visión.
If lucky we be able even to spot some marine life from this lookout point. We start our journey back to town, going through Playa Mann beach.
Trasnfer to the airport. End of the adventure 😊
